MCA Division level nominations successfully completed; Elections & AGMs to be held on 10 & 11 June 2023


Nominations for posts for MCA Divisions were simultaneously and smoothly conducted from 5.00pm to 8.00pm on 1 June 2023 for 188 MCA Divisions, 131 MCA Youth Divisions and 167 Wanita MCA Divisions.

 

According to reports received by the Headquarters from the Election Steering Committees of the respective States, a total of 36 MCA Divisions (19.1%), 9 MCA Youth Divisions (6.9%) and 7 Wanita MCA Divisions (4.2%) of the Party’s 3 main bodies in the country have nominated candidates for elections at the Division level. Candidates nominated in the remaining Divisions won uncontested.

 

For MCA Divisions in States where candidates will contest for posts, with the exception of MCA Divisions in Kelantan and Terengganu whereby nominees won uncontested, the remaining 11 States where Party polls will be held at the Division level are: Perak (3); Selangor (2); Pahang (3); Johor (8); Kedah (5); Melaka (4); Negeri Sembilan (4); Penang (2); Perlis (1); Sabah (1) and the Federal Territories (3).

 

In this regard, the above MCA Divisions, MCA Youth Divisions and Wanita MCA Divisions will carry out Division-level elections and Annual General Meeting (AGM) on 10 June (MCA Youth and Wanita MCA), and 11 June (MCA Divisions), while Divisions whose candidates won uncontested will likewise convene their respective AGM on the same dates.
