In yet another display of misconduct, Minister of Housing and Local Government, Nga Kor Ming allowed his official vehicle to be illegally parked at the entrance of a hospital. When asked to move the vehicle, the driver not only refused, but also engaged in a heated argument with the auxiliary police. This is not the first time that Nga Kor Ming’s team has disrupted public order. These incidents expose Nga Kor Ming’s negligence of his duty as a minister. He must take immediate action and formally apologise to the public and vow not to repeat such acts again.
His blatant acts against public order is unacceptable. What is even more concerning is that this is not the first time Nga Kor Ming’s team has been involved in such controversies.
Nga Kor Ming and his team have repeatedly abused the privileges of ministerial office, monopolising public resources and disrupting public order, causing inconvenience and endangering the public. To highlight this issue, an similar incident occurred not long ago: during a meal in Penang, Nga Kor Ming displayed his ministerial arrogance by occupying at least 30 public parking spaces, prioritising his own needs and ‘convenience’ above the interests of the public, sparking widespread anger.
Moreover, Nga Kor Ming’s official vehicle has also tailgated an ambulance to avoid traffic congestion. This not only constitutes an abuse of public resources but also shows a flagrant disregard for traffic laws, endangering the safety of other road users.
As a Minister, Nga Kor Ming has a responsibility to lead by example, not to exploit his position or to misuse his authority. However, he and his team have repeatedly ignored the warnings issued to him and continued to engage in misconducts, tarnishing the government’s image.
In light of this, MCA Youth strongly urges Nga Kor Ming to take full responsibility and issue a formal apology to the public. Additionally, there should also be a comprehensive review of Nga Kor Ming’s team management, including but not limited to the immediate replacement of the repeatedly errant driver. An imposition of disciplinary action on all relevant personnel should also be considered.
