Diversion attempt! Pakatan belittles Foreign Minister despite diplomatic ties at its worst under Pakatan

Demands by PKR President Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim and remarks by DAP Strategic Director Liew Ching Tong in mocking Foreign Minister Dato’ Sri Hishammuddin bin Hussein are feeble attempts to divert attention and even worse, a denial that Malaysia’s bilateral relations with China, and even India and Singapore fell to its lowest levels during Pakatan Harapan’s (PH) administration, to the extent that our nation’s commodity industries and economy were affected.

When PH was in power, Malaysia has also suffered woes such as the postponement and cancellation of several infrastructure projects involving China that benefit the masses. Such misadventures during PH’s 22 months in office had stifled Malaysia’s economic growth and caused Malaysia to lag behind.

As a result of failing to maintain good diplomatic relations, the country's palm oil industry also faced problems when China decided to buy more palm oil from Indonesia than Malaysia. Likewise with India: In October 2019, India’s top vegetable oil trade body, the Solvent Extractors Association, urged its members to stop buying Malaysian palm oil. This is as good as a boycott call. However, ultimately those whose livelihoods were severely afflicted were the Malaysian smallholders.

The opposition is very welcome if they have suggestions or thoughtful inputs for the benefit of the rakyat and Malaysia. But if Anwar, Liew Chin Tong and their ilk just intend to score cheap publicity, then it is better they both hold their tongues as their rebukes do not yield any benefit.
