NEWLY appointed Perak MCA Public Service and Complaints Bureau chief Low Guo Nan pledges to continue providing services to those who are in need of help.

Despite no longer being part of the Government, Low said providing assistance to the people had always been part of the bureau and party’s core service.

“Now that we are in the Opposition, getting things done will not be easy.

“There will be a lot of limitations and some things may take a longer time to be resolved,” he said when met.

“However, I will still try my best to lend my assistance,” he added.

Low is no stranger to providing services to the people, as he was an Ipoh city councillor and had dealt with plenty of complaints from the public on local issues.

He officially took over the bureau from his predecessor Jimmy Loh on Dec 21 last year, and will helm it for three years until the next party elections.

Low said the people are always welcome to forward their complaints or unhappiness over any services rendered by the local authorities or state government.

“I believe any community or individual with problems should find their respective city councillors, state assemblymen or MPs first. We are still ratepayers and expect problems to be resolved by them.

“But if their appointed representatives are not getting things done, then they can come to us,” he said.

“Together, we can provide checks and balances of the services provided by the local authorities or government,” he added.

Low expects the state government and local councillors to act professionally when it comes to resolving problems faced by the people.

“I will still play my part as the bureau chief and will direct any public complaints received to the respective authorities according to proper procedures.

“I hope they will not be bias and remain professional in resolving the issues faced by the public,” he said.

Low said he would helm the bureau on a voluntary basis.

“Those who need my assistance can contact Perak MCA; we will make an appointment to meet up and resolve any problems.

“I will also have a team of committee members and hope to have them located at each district so that we can cover the whole state,” he said.
