MALAYSIA–INDONESIA TRADE & POLITICAL NETWORKING PROGRAMME
Jointly Organised by MCA Economic & SMEs Affairs Committee and MCA Selangor
Datuk Ir. Lawrence Low to Lead Delegation for Malaysia–Indonesia Trade and Political Networking Initiative
Following the success of last year’s Malaysia–Japan Trade and Political Networking Programme, the MCA Economic & SMEs Affairs Committee, together with the MCA Selangor State Liaison Committee, will organise a 7-day, 6-night Malaysia–Indonesia Trade and Political Networking Programme from 19 to 25 April 2026.
During the visit, the delegation will undertake courtesy calls to several ministries, government agencies, and business organisations in Indonesia, with the aim of expanding regional cooperation and development opportunities. These include Coordinating Ministry of People's Empowerment of Indonesia, the Indonesian Migrant Workers Protection Ministry (KP2MI), and the Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin), as well as the Embassy of Malaysia in Indonesia and MATRADE’s office in Indonesia.
In addition, the delegation will visit key business organisations such as the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN), the Association of Indonesian Chinese Entrepreneurs (Perkumpulan Pengusaha Indonesia Tionghoa - PERPIT), and the Indonesian Young Entrepreneurs Association (HIPMI), as well as several well-established local enterprises. These engagements will facilitate business matching and foster collaboration in various projects for mutual benefit between companies of both countries.
The delegation will also have the opportunity to experience Indonesia’s transport infrastructure development firsthand through a ride on KCJB Feeder Train (Kereta Cepat Jakarta Bandung - KCJB). A visit to a textile manufacturing plant is also scheduled to gain deeper insights into production processes and business capital structures, serving as a reference for future business development and industrial cooperation.
Indonesia remains one of the major economies in Southeast Asia, with a population of approximately 300 million, a vast market, and strong growth potential. Jakarta, as the nation’s capital, serves as its commercial hub, featuring advanced infrastructure, a large consumer base, and a dynamic investment environment, placing it in a strategic position within regional economic development.
MCA Economic & SMEs Affairs Committee remains committed to building networking platforms for local enterprises to encourage international market exploration, broaden global perspectives, and unlock new growth opportunities. Moving forward, the Committee will continue to act as a bridge to strengthen Malaysia–Indonesia cooperation under the “going global” initiative, while enhancing trade, investment, and long-term development prospects.
The delegation comprises more than 30 participants from both political and business sectors, including 21 MCA representatives and 12 entrepreneurs. Among them are two companies that have already expanded operations into Indonesia, covering sectors such as logistics, healthcare, skills development, manufacturing, plantation, and industrial engineering projects.
Notable members of the delegation include MCA Economic & SMEs Affairs Committee Deputy Chairman, YB Dato’ Wong Tat Chee; MCA Selangor State Liaison Committee Secretary, Dato’ Lee Ban Seng; MCA Economic & SMEs Affairs Committee Secretary, Lee Kah Hing; Senator Datuk Wira Koh Nai Kwong; Senator Dato’ Ng Keng Heng; and MCA National Organising Secretary, Dato’ Leaw Kok Chan.
