Press statement by Vice President Senator Ti Lian Ker

Now that PKR apologised! DAP still thinks it’s “No Big Deal” to threaten the Orang Asli?

Now that PKR Senator Bob Manolan has apologised for threatening the Orang Asli, is DAP and Lim Kit Siang DAP going to dismiss the threat on the Orang Asli as a small matter or continue with their leaders’ denial that it did not happen?

DAP has to apologise and retract the threats made against the Orang Asli. Kit Siang’s denial quoting DAP Ministers, MPs etc as witnesses is false and a lie.

The DAP advisor needs to accept the responsibility for the controversy offending the Orang Asli and by making a public denial in attempting to wriggle out of it by quoting DAP’s Ministers and MPs, etc as witnesses to intimidate the Tok Batins into submission . Lim Kit Siang and the DAP leaders now also owe the public an apology for their false public statements.

To add further insult to injury, the party’s candidate M. Manogaran further offended them by claiming that the Malays do not buy Orang Asli delicacies in a condescending manner.  Subsequently he continues to belittle the Orang Asli by saying that the “threat”, intimidation and undue influence is “not a big deal”. How could the DAP candidate who wants to be a lawmaker and is a lawyer treat this this as a small matter when it is expressly provided by the Elections Act as an offence?

While PKR has since apologised for the behaviour of Bob Manolan, M. Manogaran arrogantly downplays the Bob Manolan incident. Manolan from PKR definitely sounds better than Manogaran of DAP.

As such MCA urges Kit Siang to apologise to the Orang Asli community and push M. Manogaran to retract his offending statement failure of which MCA calls upon all Cameron Highlands voters to cast a vote of protest against the said candidate.

MCA notes that DAP has shown their arrogance and displays acts of dismissing and trampling against the spirit of the rule of law since coming into power . These are the very traits they have accused others including Tun Dr. Mahathir before.
