West Coast Expressway: 44 more years of tolls thanks to Pakatan

1. In the lead up to the 2018 General Elections, Perak DAP supremo Nga Kor Ming promised in the DAP’s official RoketKini portal that if Pakatan were to come to power, all highway tolls in Malaysia will be abolished, including all tolls on the West Coast Expressway.

2. And yet, not only has DAP failed to keep its promise to abolish highway tolls, but just a year later in May 2019 we see Nga Kor Ming happily officiating the grand opening of a brand new toll station at the West Coast Expressway’s new Teluk Intan exit.

3. Now, the Malaysian government has just authorised West Coast Expressway Holdings to collect tolls on the West Coast Expressway for a period of 44 years, from January 15, 2020 until December 19, 2063, effective immediately. 44 more years of highway tolls!
