Licence to BREAK promises!

Voters voted for a New Malaysia. The Rakyat believed Pakatan Harapan’s much touted Buku Harapan of which its launching was a grandiose affair. Trusting the PH Manifesto, the Rakyat opted to change the government for the first time in Malaysia’s history

But today, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohammad merely refers to the Pakatan Harapan Manifesto as a “guidance”, “it is not a Bible”, the Prime Minister once frowned upon as a “dictator” and
“pharaoh” by DAP, opens up a practical loophole for PH leaders to conveniently torch any of the PH Manifesto Promises which the coalition:

1)      simply does not want to fulfil

2)      does not have the ability to honour

3)      justifies as an excuse when promises are broken

4)      mudah & sudah lupa

Discretionary decisions to, or, to not live up to one’s promises are open to convenient abuse of power.

Pakatan Harapan: The RAKYAT are the power and they hold you to your words.

Break some more pledges, fail to live up to people’s expectations, and you will follow in the footsteps of Japan’s Democratic Party and become a one-term wonder. Voted in as a populist government, the euphoria has ended. The Rakyat expect PH to deliver.
