Press statement by MCA Vice President Senator Dato’ Sri Ti Lian Ker

DAP must apologise to all Malaysians and retract their statements against the Tok Batins

Did Lim Kit Siang lie or mislead when he claimed that :

"I checked with DAP leaders, namely Deputy Water, Land and Natural Resources Minister Tengku Zulpuri Shah Raja Puji, Bentong MP Wong Tack, Sabah Senator Adrian Lasimbang and Ketari State Assemblyman Young Syefura Ahmad who were at the session on what actually happened.”

He must apologise to all Malaysians for stating that Senator Bob Manolan had not made any threats when Malaysiakini even released the visual audio proving that he did say that those who did not "support" Pakatan Harapan or the federal government would be removed.

Lim further said that if Bob Manolan had made such threats against the Tok Batins, it would be an electoral offence.

Now that it is proven that these words were surely uttered and PKR through their Vice-President, Tian Chua had issued an apology on behalf of PKR for the “unintended careless statements” towards the Orang Asli community, will DAP in particular Lim apologies, and also those DAP leaders he named -  Tg Zulpuri, Wong Tack, Adrian Lasimbang and Young Syefura confirm that such threats were not made against the Tok Batins?

The question here is: was Lim making a “false statement" when he said these leaders who were there at the session confirmed that “no such threats” were made.

If what Lim said was true, these DAP leaders must repent and apologise to all Malaysians and Malaysiakini, in particular whose report was challenged and integrity questioned by Lim.

Despite PKR’s apology for Bob Manolan’s statement, the DAP by-election candidate Manogaran had shown his arrogance and recalcitrance by trivialising and dismissing the alleged threat to the Tok Batins as “No Big Deal”.

The MCA today calls upon Lim to apologise to the Orang Asli community and Manogaran to retract his “no big deal” statement that is dismissive and condescending towards the  community.
