UTAR Hospital receives blessing from Malaysians to serve Kampar and surrounding communities

As the construction of Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR) Hospital continues in Kampar, MCA is elated to hear that Creador founder and CEO Brahmal Vasudevan and his spouse Shanthi Kandiah have pledged to donate RM50 million to the UTAR Education Fund, to be utilised for the construction of the non-profit teaching hospital.

The two education institutions established by MCA: Tunku Abdul Rahman University College (recently upgraded to TAR University of Management and Technology) and UTAR have always kept to the principle of providing quality and affordable education for all. Now, the new, non-profit UTAR Hospital in Kampar aspires to provide affordable and quality healthcare to the community.

MCA expresses our heartfelt gratitude towards Brahmal Vasudevan and Shanthi Kandiah for their benevolent donation, fully demonstrating that Malaysians of all races and religions can come to a common, constructive cause – realising the UTAR hospital to facilitate tertiary medical studies and provide excellent healthcare services to the community. Moving forward, MCA will continue to promote the development of the UTAR Hospital to serve the community better.

We hope that the charity exemplified by this couple will inspire more Malaysians to donate to the project, to earlier reach the fundraising target.

The total cost of the project is RM330 million, with a remaining RM129 million shortfall after generous donations from all quarters. We hope that Malaysians will see the value of the UTAR Hospital and donate with an open heart.
