Guan Eng must not dodge undersea tunnel issue with photos of MACC suspect

In trying to up the ante against BN by “newly” presenting a photo of an MACC suspect taken together with BN leaders, Penang Chief Minister YAB Lim Guan Eng is merely trying to deflect the major issue of firstly, so many unanswered questions regarding the colossal Penang undersea tunnel scandal, and secondly, his pathetic laundry of excuses to avoid facing MCA Deputy President Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong for a debate at the former’s convenience, with the freedom to refer to any notes on this ecological destructive project.

The said MACC suspect who carried a “DAto’ Seri” title had allegedly received RM19million to try to help “settle” investigations by MACC.

The DAP Bagan MP cannot be so stupendously naïve to not be aware that there is a chasm of difference between just having one’s photo taken with any public figure, as opposed to one youth at 37 years of age, having the sizeable good luck of sharing the same passenger seat with the Penang Chief, the automobile by the way, is said to resemble a luxury car, presumably a Mercedes Benz. Coincidentally, the official motorcar of the Penang Chief Minister is also Mercedes Benz.

The main issue is not about the photos, but the links between the Penang state government, Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng, his Excos, the Special Purpose Vehicle with this Dato’ Seri corruption suspect, whereas other BN leaders do NOT have such issues of MACC investigating BN-led government projects.

Guan Eng is answerable for the undersea tunnel issue as the project is his: It was Guan Eng who issued an open letter via Bulletin Mutiara, the Penang-run state publication. Bulletin Mutiara itself also announced about the award of this project in its 4 March 2013 edition hyping the inclusion of China’s renowned construction giants CRCC and BUCG.

Guan Eng hit below belt by trying to link Star Media Group managing director and chief executive officer Dato’ Seri Wong Chun Wai with the MACC suspect, attempting to drag the media, into his dragnet of woes.
