DAP’s Theatrical Politics

When things go bad, fingers will start pointing everywhere to lay blame on people as an easy way out as scapegoats. True to human nature, people have short memory and many of the causes are a direct implication of things people had done a long time ago. Whether we like it or not, the calls by certain opposition MPs to rally Malaysiasn especially non-Muslim to reject the enhancement of RUU355 is late, or, if I could say, very late.

It is even hypocritical for these MPs to rally against it when at first one MP (Anthony Loke) said that “if you don’t rob or steal, there is no need to fear hudud.” Another higher ranking MP (Lim Guan Eng) also said, “LET IT PASSED FIRST.” We need to remind ourselves who conned the Chinese community into voting for PAS during GE13 and affirm that PAS represents the moon in your heart, and yet they had the gall to blame on MCA for allowing the Private Member’s Bill to be tabled, when in fact the dirty politics played by DAP is now being clean up by MCA.

DAP theatrical politics with PAS prior to GE 13 is now evidently the cause of the divisive politics we have today and a major cause of the racial and religious tension arising. If DAP did not empower PAS, the latter would not even have the gall to introduce such a Private Member’s Bill.

Another wonderful statistics to add, according to Malaysiakini, 50,000 people turned up to support Himpunan RUU355, but only 40,000 people turned up for Bersih 5.0. It is notable that Bersih 5.0 lacked Malay participation and if one adds up the 50,000 people in Himpunan RUU355 with the Bersih 5.0 rally, perhaps we can estimate 100,000 people. Clearly more than half of the previous support for Bersih were Malays and this number was delivered by PAS to DAP which now heads Pakatan Harapan. This shows PAS’ strength especially in gathering Malay NGOs to support its cause. All these while DAP’s politics has been the politics of expediency in making people believe that things can get better, that things can turn out to be good. If the situation was so good, there would not be flooding in many places, and especially inside an international airport when rain starts to fall in Penang.

People especially the Chinese community should come to realise that DAP all these while, depended on a strong PAS support in the Pakatan coalition. Now with such lies being exposed after two GEs, the Chinese community should then reflect if it worthwhile supporting DAP given its guarantee that the moon represents your heart. After all, it was DAP guarantee but the PAS Constitution on the other hands, stays the same for generation that its goals is to establish an Islamic state.
