PETALING JAYA: DAP has gone against its own principles to fight for a "Malaysian Malaysia" by endorsing Pakatan Harapan's manifesto which protects the interests of certain communities, said Datuk Seri Ti Lian Ker (pic).

The MCA publicity spokesperson said that while Pakatan claims to be fighting for equal treatment for all regardless of race or religion, the policies it proposed in its manifesto are blatantly unfair to the welfare of the Chinese community.

"There are expressed policy proposals for all races except the Chinese," Ti said in a statement on Wednesday (March 21).

He highlighted several pages in the Opposition coalition's manifesto that provides special rights for Felda residents, the Indian community, bumiputra, and the protection of Malay special rights.

"Pakatan Harapan and DAP in particular claim to make decisions based on merit and with no racial considerations, yet they have made exceptions with special mention (iltizam khusus) for Malays and Indians in their manifesto," Ti said.

He said DAP's silence shows its hypocrisy as it has for many years claimed that there is no room for racial politics or race-based parties.

Ti added that DAP has also settled for Pakatan chairman Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad's ethnocentric politics.

"The Pakatan Harapan Manifesto is hypocritical as DAP has been fighting for a 'Malaysian Malaysia', but in the manifesto, it will continue with preferential treatment for the bumiputra," he said.

"Pakatan Harapan made so many promises for the bumiputra, and suddenly DAP has gone mute on fairness to all races and giving equal attention to each race's needs," Ti said.
