Press statement by MCA Publicity Spokesman cum Religious Harmony Bureau Chairman Dato’ Sri Ti Lian Ker

Ti to Teo: Don’t talk like a political novice!

Tun Mahathir’s refusal to apologise for “Operasi Lalang”, and insistence that his actions against Dato’ Sri Anwar Ibrahim were correct, as well as not wanting to condemn Perkasa for declaring ‘war’ against the government if the Unified Examination Certificate (UEC) is recognised. All of these go to show that DAP supremo Lim Kit Siang and his son, the party’s secretary-general Lim Guan Eng have failed to influence their coalition partners to move in parallel.

On the contrary, the DAP’s father and son leadership appear to have been swayed by Tun Mahathir’s thoughts all the time. In fact Tun Mahathir has openly insisted that he was right on all three counts by words in deeds with Lim Kit Siang sitting silently and quietly alongside him in the recent Youth Townhall meet in Petaling Jaya.

Despite Perkasa (of which Mahathir was the founding patron) Chairman Ibrahim Ali’s open declaration of WAR against the Government, Lim Kit Siang will still hop at MCA, for any Perkasa’s stand or statement that deemed DAP to be a ‘‘lap dog’’ (a term DAP will use on MCA under similar situations) by keeping quiet on calls for Mahathir, Muhyiddin and Anwar Ibrahim to declare their support for UEC recognition.

If DAP cannot deliver this simple political gesture of supporting UEC recognition, why am I wasting my time debating with a non-starter who is making “pompous” claims of DAP success in dictating to the three “ultra-Malay” personalities in Mahathir, Anwar Ibrahim and Muhyiddin.

All that the rakyat can see now is that Lim Kit Siang and DAP have made many U-turns since leading Anwar Ibrahim back to embrace PAS and subsequently to embrace Mahathir’s racial party and Muhyiddin Yassin’s “I am Malay first’’ recalcitrance on Operasi Lalang, insisting that there were sufficient evidence on Anwar Ibrahim’s wayward sexual activities and so forth.

If the DAP Member of Parliament (whose support has been derived from riding on hate-harping on Mahathir’s indulgences, unpopularity etc) cannot comprehend these fundamental issues of political correctness, then I am not going to respond to Teo Nie Ching’s political nitpicking.
