SUNGAI PETANI: Barisan Nasional is a coalition that people can trust, the MCA president said.

Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai said Malaysia’s achievement was possible due to the coalition’s five core values – mutual respect, cooperation, harmony, unity and consensus.

“Barisan has been consistently delivering on all its promises.

“All Barisan MPs and assemblymen work hard to ensure a better livelihood for the people,” he added.

Liow was speaking to reporters during a visit to Kampung Sungai Bongkok, Gurun, where he presented aid to 80 flood victims and a wheelchair to bedridden Teh Mahmud, 87, yesterday.

Citing Gurun as an example, he said Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Seri Jamil Khir Baharom had secured a RM800,000 flood mitigation project.

He said in contrast, Pakatan Harapan would spread lies about the efforts and achievements of the ruling government.

“They have been using the emotional approach to win over the people,” he said.

Liow lamented that people fell into the trap sometimes, thinking that the Opposition was their saviour.

“Unfortunately, your problems are not solved, even years later,” he said.

Meanwhile, Liow also gave out school bags to 10 preschool children in Kampung Panjang here.

Also present were Kedah MCA chairman Datuk Lee Chee Leong, Kedah MCA deputy chairman Datuk Dr Leong Yong Kong and MCA’s coordinator for Gurun constituency Datuk Boey Chin Gan.
