News release by MCA Segambut Chairman Datuk Daniel Ling Sia Chin

MCA Segambut responds to sanitisation request by PIBG of SJKC Khai Chee by arranging for services by Volunteer Bomba

As the Covid-19 pandemic continues to rage, schools have become high-risk places. Covid-19 positive cases have been reported in one school after another, and SJKC Khai Chee along Jalan Segambut, Kuala Lumpur is no exception. Upon learning that a student was diagnosed positive, the school conducted a round of sanitisation. This will strengthen the various pandemic prevention measures already in place and will help to prevent other students from contracting the infectious disease at school.

Upon being contacted by the Chairman of the Parents Teachers Association (PIBG) Tan Sun Kiong, as Chairman of the Majlis Perwakilan Penduduk Wilayah Persekutuan (MPPWP) Segambut, Datuk Daniel Ling Sia Chin took the initiative to contact the Sentul Volunteer Fire and Rescue Brigade (Bomba). With close cooperation among all quarters, the Volunteer Bomba arrived in the evening to carry out thorough disinfection works for the school. Students may return to class and parents may rest assured.

In fact, the school has consistently followed all SOPs on pandemic prevention. Measures have been implemented in adherence with the regulations by the Ministry of Education. Classrooms and washrooms have been sanitized and cleaned.

As there are cases of students from schools in Kuala Lumpur testing positive for Covid-19, the sanitisation team consisting of the volunteer Bomba is likewise very occupied. Sometimes, it is necessary to perform disinfection at several schools in one day. The sanitisaton supplies are obtained by the voluntary Bomba via donations from well-meaning people in society. As the number of confirmed positive cases remain high and a fourth wave looms, I pledge that the volunteer Bomba will conduct sanitisation exercises again after been requested to.

PIBG Chairman Mr Tan expressed his deep gratitude to Datuk Daniel Ling and his team for their prompt response. Mr Tan also called on parents to do a good job of preventing the outbreak at home. Everyone plays a role in cooperating to achieve the goals of safety and health wellbeing at home or at school.
