Rocket-UMNO pact proposition evinces DAP’s history of MCA-UMNO bashing

DAP’s suggestion to cooperate and even form a pact with UMNO is evidence that the Rocket’s disparagement of MCA and UMNO as allies in the same BN coalition are fabrication conceived purely out of political vindictiveness. It also proves that DAP strategy of shamelessly adjusting its façade when it needs to remain relevant as it fades into oblivion.

From DAP Perak Chairman Nga Kor Ming’s ascertain that he has obtained the green light from Secretary General to convey a message of cooperation with UMNO, to DAP Selangor Speaker cum Sekinchan ADUN Ng Suee Lim stating that DAP is open to forming a pact with UMNO, the backlash from netizens on social media indicates that all past accusations which DAP rocketed at MCA, UMNO and BN are tall tales, thereby further reinforcing the integrity of MCA and the BN coalition.

For too long, DAP has labelled MCA as a lackey or lap dog of UMNO. However, due to political expediency, DAP has volte faced and now embraces UMNO – its arch foe from time immemorial which the Rocket had given various unsavoury labels. Singing another tune about UMNO, this is the same tactic which DAP deployed when they welcomed Tun Dr Mahathir with open arms. From demonising Malaysia’s longest serving premier and his children, DAP then shared the same stage with him and sang many praises of him.

Even within the Opposition coalition from Barisan Altenatif to Pakatan Rakyat to now Pakatan Harapan, DAP made itself a convenient ally of PKR for more than 20 years, out from the tails of the Reformasi movement. Prior to capturing Putrajaya, it gave its  unanimous support to Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim to be Prime Minister. However, at critical moments, there were no scruples in betraying Anwar to switching its support to Warisan Chairman Dato’ Seri Shafie Apdal.

DAP aces at slamming whoever it sees it its opponent. However, a closer review of DAP’s conduct unmasks the Rocket as serving its own self interests.

For the current (or long existing) leadership of DAP to suddenly have glowing opinions of UMNO which it for eons had assailed, society is a better judge at evaluating DAP’s political ethos, or lack of.
