Non-Malay votes swinging 90%? Lim Kit Siang living in political fantasy

DAP supremo Lim Kit Siang claims that a 10percent swing in Malay votes along with a 5percent swing in non-Malay support in the next general election will bring about political change. Once again, Kit Siang displaces his feeble political judgement, and has become more and more confused. Unfortunately, he is still living in a fantasy realm.

Kit Siang assumes the opposition can win over MCA seats including Bentong parliamentary seat. Although in the previous election, 85percent of non-Malay votes went to the Opposition. That was the worst case scenario. The Opposition has already gone past its peak and can only roll downhill now. Kit Siang is arrogant to assume that non-Malay votes will rise from 85percent to 90percent. He is exaggerating the actual situation.

The DAP stalwart should be reminded that 85percent of non-Malays voting the Opposition is a matter of the past. The Opposition does not need to keep manipulating non-Malays against the mainstream. In fact, after the 13th general elections and even before that, DAP should explain to non-Malay voters, how their rights and interests in whichever sector been have improved or upgraded by supporting the Opposition.

It is obvious that since the 13th general elections, the overall performance of DAP’s leaders amounts to nothing. The voters had entrusted DAP with the mandate, launching the Rocket with the highest number of Parliamentary seats. However, this trust has been wasted. The Rocket keeps crashing when it comes to delivering performance, but is capable in firing up people’s emotions against MCA to retain support. In their panic, Kit Siang claims that a  10percent swing vote among Malay voters is enough to stir a Malay tsunami. By spewing up 10percent added to a 5percent votes swing, DAP attempts to manipulate and mislead figures simply to attack MCA. Clearly, the Rocket is just inciting non-Malay votes.

Kit Siang must be informed that electors of a democratic country are free to vote for any political party, be it the ruling coalition or Opposition pact. There is hardly any constituency which secures a 90percent one-sided victory, except in very isolated individual constituencies, based on certain factors. Thus, our MCA advises Kit Siang to wake up from his political fantasy, which has strayed beyond general rational logic in his hopes for swing votes. These deranged rumours aimed at changing the generation are destined to fail.
