CLARIFICATION ON MCA SUPPORTING PN PAS

In the early days after polling day of GE15, MCA was informed by certain senior BN leaders that BN should join Perikatan Nasional in the new government based on BN's decision before GE15 which is “No DAP & No Anwar”.

This was a situation similar to Sarawak's GPS. Various news reports had disclosed that GPS also initially supported PN after they were told that BN had agreed to support PN.

 Subsequently, it was decided in BN's first supreme council meeting post elections that BN's first preference was to stay neutral and to remain in opposition.

In that meeting, MCA President has also proposed that any and all existing individual Members of Parliament Statutory Declarations must be cancelled immediately.

As a result, BN had instructed all BN Members of Parliament to immediately withdraw any statutory declarations of support that was previously given.
