MCA Selangor welcomes the announcement by the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, regarding the immediate allocation of RM500 million to repair public infrastructure damaged by recent floods in several states.
This measure demonstrates the government's commitment to ensuring the safety, welfare, and convenience of people remain a priority, particularly for those directly affected by the disaster.
We hope that the distribution of this aid will be carried out transparently, efficiently, and in an orderly manner, prioritising areas that sustained severe damage, thereby helping to alleviate the burden on citizens still confronted with difficulties as waters recede.
In line with the implementation of the Madani Budget 2026, which focuses on public welfare and infrastructure development, MCA Selangor is confident this step represents an important beginning towards a more effective and sustainable disaster management system.
Furthermore, we also support the government's efforts to strengthen flood mitigation plans and enhance disaster preparedness. Floods necessitate not only post-disaster recovery actions but also long-term strategies to prevent future occurrences, reduce risks, and minimise damage.
MCA Selangor, together with the Crisis Relief Squad of MCA (CRSM), will continue to undertake our role in assisting those in need, including flood victims during disasters and in post-floods clean-up operations.
