As the Chinese New Year draws near, the Crisis Relief Squad of MCA (CRSM) will once again collaborate with crowdfunding platform GoCare to promote the "CNY Care" campaign. To commemorate the joy of the holiday season, CNY gifts and Ang Paus will be delivered this week to underprivileged groups in different states.

The "CNY Care" event has been organised annually by CRSM since 2007. Before the Chinese New Year, it distributes Ang Paus and CNY presents to underprivilege groups in order for them to enjoy a prosperous year as well. More than 5,000 households have benefited so far from CRSM’s goodwill.

The inaugural activity of the GoCare BeWithYou Community Caring Campaign is the "CNY Care" event whereby a number of charitable events will be held, such as a charity bazaars and food trucks. This effort is to mobilise more people and rally their support for further impoverished and needy groups need.

According to Datuk Natalie Lim Chong Ly, the National Chief of CRSM, “caring for the poorer populations in our communities is just as vital as disaster relief efforts. Since its founding, CRSM has frequently engaged in community care activities, such as free health screenings, Kampung Orang Asli caring initiatives, supply distribution to underprivileged centres, etc. While these activities may only be able to offer limited assistance, they can draw more people's attention to the lesser fortunate in the community. We will then pool our resources and the energy of many eager individuals to assist additional deserving folks.”

Although the pandemic has subsided, the locals are still concerned for their safety and way of life. In making a plea for more enthusiastic individuals to participate in the GoCare BeWithYou Community Caring Campaign by joining as partners, it is hoped that additional various forms of aid may be offered to those in need.

The inaugural "CNY Care" event will take place in Kuala Lumpur on January 14, 2023. To lessen the burden of single-parent families, 50 Ang Paus will be distributed this weekend, according to Loke Hon Wai, CRSM Chief of Wilayah Persekutuan.
