In conjunction with the 2026/2027 academic year UPUOnline application cycle, MCA Youth Education Consultation Committee will embark on a nationwide 2026 Higher Education Guidance and Counselling Roadshow throughout March to assist students and parents in gaining a comprehensive understanding of further education options.

According to the Ministry of Education, the application period for SPM leavers and the first phase of applications for STPM or equivalent qualification holders runs from 29 January to 23 March 2026. With SPM results due to be released soon, many students and parents often feel uncertain when filling in their course choices due to insufficient information or unclear direction. It is therefore necessary to strengthen guidance and advisory efforts.

The MCA Youth Education Consultation Committee would like to emphasise that this roadshow is open not only to SPM, STPM and equivalent qualification holders, but also welcomes current secondary school students to participate early and prepare in advance for their future academic pathways.

Higher education planning should not be rushed after examination results are released. Instead, students should begin developing a clear direction from Form Four, Form Five, or even earlier.

In recent years, the government has actively promoted Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) as well as diversified education pathways. However, information on these options has yet to be fully disseminated. Therefore, this roadshow will cover public and private university pathways, overseas studies, UPU applications, TVET routes, and scholarship and loan opportunities.

Further education is not merely about entering university but a crucial starting point in life planning. Parents should engage in meaningful discussions with their children about their future direction.

As the education system continues to undergo reform and improvement, society must place greater emphasis on information transparency and guidance mechanisms. MCA Youth is prepared to shoulder its social responsibility by serving as a bridge between students and parents, providing objective, practical and forward-looking advice on further education.

For the schedule of state-level stops of the 2026 Higher Education Guidance and Counselling Roadshow, members of the public may refer to the event poster. Admission is free, and graduates, current students and parents are warmly encouraged to attend.
